Thankful for all my 2010 brides

Sorry this has been so long in posting a blog. I sometimes get caught up in the day to day of the business, and before I know it, a year has gone by. My New Years resolution will be to post every wedding I am at attendance, and point out things I see that will help my future brides with. Sometimes it takes someone just standing back and watching the event, to see clearly what is going on.
I've had a busy fall season, sometimes attending 3 wedding a weekend. I loved them all! I'd like to pick just 2 important things I picked up this year.
1. Many brides today are opting in to join their cocktail hour, after their photos are done. This is great! One thing I would like to advise you on, is to make sure your venue has a tray of your favorite items in your bridal room. You see once you arrive I promise you, you will be hungry. You have gotten dressed hours prior to your event, and almost every bride has not eaten since then. You will be whisked off to take family portraits for a while and by the time you join the cocktail hour, there are sometimes slim pickings.

2. Photography is something that some brides try to cut cost on. There are more than enough vendors in this category to make your head spin. Yes, some of the newer, cheaper ones...do good pictures ( so do 20% of your guest who will post on Facebook the next day). Check out or ask them their experience doing this kind of photography. An inexperienced photographer can tie up so many hours of your special day, if they are not organized enough to get all the photos you would like. You need someone who knows your venue (all the nice spots to photograph you, all the great lighting to get the perfect picture, and the talent to get it done!) Do your homework on this one.
Enough for now...here are some highlights of our year, and the most beautiful brides that make our dresses look so spectacular! Thank you 2010 brides!

Allsion and Todd Paling 9/19/09

I attended to a bride and groom this weekend, and cannot tell you what a pleasure it is for me to see our brides and grooms to completion. I have a great time getting to know our clients and their families and it is my honor to help them out the day of their wedding.
Todd and Allison are a great couple, easy to like. Their day was beautiful fall weather...cool but not too chilly.
I'm going to share a few of my favorite moment of the day...but since I leave after the brides is bustled for her reception...I'll have to guess that they had a great time the rest of the evening. It has to be true as the priest at Our Lady of the Lake...said Allison was the life of the party!( a quote from Todd!)
A jaw dropper for me was the site of Todd's truck in the church parking lot. It was completely COVERED with mud, and etched on the side window was "Just Married". Check out the picture...it's a black truck!!! Not a spot on it had signs of the black! So while you brides are up at the crack of dawn getting your hair and makeup done...you can imagine what a morning your groom is having...like splashing in mud puddles!!!
Congrats Allison and Todd!
